The Republic of South Africa, bordered to East and West by two oceans, occupies a predominant place in Southern Africa. Sharing land frontiers with Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Swaziland and surrounding landlocked Lesotho, this country of 1,127,000 km² recorded GDP of 130 billion dollars and economic growth of nearly 4% in 2001. With 9 airports and 6 international ports, the Republic of South Africa is asserting its intention to give priority to developing new logistics platforms turned towards the outside world.

The PWV: the major conurbation in which more than half the country's industry is concentrated comprises the cities of Johannesburg, Durban and Capetown. Johannesburg, the world's thirteenth-largest financial centre and the economic capital of the country, has established as a prime location for business since 1997. In 2001, we chose Durban as the location for our second office. A dynamic city with a modern international airport and the country's largest port, Durban is also a gateway to the Rand industrial and mining region. To complete our 360° provision, 2 SDV staff members are posted in Capetown and Port Elisabeth.
