Customs formalities :
Customs formalities in East Timor can be a little complicated as new systems are progressively put in place and the current regulation is regularly updated. SDV is the largest customs broker in East Timor and always aware of the latest updates of the customs regulations.

Most sensitive are cargoes requiring exemption of customs duties. Not all donation cargoes are automatically exempt of duties, and it is important for the shipper to contact SDV East Timor to confirm under which conditions he can claim exemption of duties for his cargo.

Currency:
The official currency of East Timor is the US Dollar (USD)

Language:
The two official languages of East Timor are Tetum and Portuguese. English and Indonesian are recognized as business languages.
