Growing refinery
Our New Zealand teams were recently awarded the transportation contract for the extension of the Marsden Point Refinery, New Zealand’s only oil refinery. In doing so they have chartered a number of vessels from South East Asia notably Thailand, Korea and China for delivery direct to the local North Island deep water port – Northport. The first operation saw 13 pieces of the radiant section (heater) and convection stack (chimney) as well as the pressure vessels ex China loaded onto the vessel in Sri Racha Thailand and delivered to the Marsden Point refinery. Four 50 ton cranes were used for the loading of the various units weighing and measuring up to 69 tons/ 18 meters in length. Our customer was satisfied with this transport: one of the biggest operations ever handled by SDV New Zealand!
