Kenya is situated on the East African
Coast and is the major economic force for the
East African region.
The port of Mombasa handles 14.000.000 tonnes (400.000 teus) per year of cargo to and from the hinterland (Uganda, Rwanda & Burundi) via what is generally called the Northern Corridor. The main import & export trades are with West Europe, South India, Dubai, South Africa and South East Asia and China.
Nairobi’s Jomo Kenyatta International airport is the
most prominent cargo airport in the region and acts as
a hub for the East African/Great Lakes area.
