Transport "on hangers"
Thanks to our new English teams from the JE BERNARD group recently acquired, SDV in Asia has begun working on the business of Dewhirst, one of the largest suppliers of Marks & Spencer. Clothing is transported in air and sea containers into the UK from the manufacturers in China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Morocco. As the garments are transported ready-made, special procedures are required for their carriage. ‘Garment on Hanger’ configured containers are used to accommodate the cargo. In Indonesia, a member of staff is on site to supervise loading, check the sealing of the container and also to ensure that the fabrications and material stitching are of a suitable quality.
