Extreme measures for a reduced model (May 2006)

Our La Rochelle agency, specialised in transporting boats, is one of the partners of major competitions such as the Route du Rhum, the America's Cup and the AG2R..

Thanks to their specific expertise, our teams look after all transport and logistic operations linked to transporting sailboats and equipment needed for organising these sporting events.

So when the reduced model of the Chinese team's boat taking part in the America's Cup had to be transported to Peking (China), the task was naturally entrusted to our La Rochelle agency.

Indeed, to celebrate and promote this competition in China, a huge party was organised in Peking in the presence of a number of celebrities. A show which had caused a sensation with two hours of music, films, songs, 1200 guests and more than 300 million television viewers on the agenda. The real star of the evening was the model of the China Team's 7 metre long boat.

This unique specimen made by a craftsman from La Rochelle was transported by plane from Nantes to Peking. Once on site, our local teams took all possible steps to ensure its delivery to the Tian Qiao theatre where the event took place.
