Zoom on an olympic accomplishment

If Olympic games hit the headlines this summer, our discreet and efficient teams took part to this event in their own way.

Last spring, SDV in Beijing has imported 500pcs of electric hoist. Their Chinese customer had won the bid to supply the lifting equipments in the National Olympic Stadium (called “Bird Nest”) of the Beijing Olympic Games 2008. An electric hoist was used to produce the scenic effects (light and sound) in the National Olympic Stadium.

The products are coming from a leading French manufacturer of lifting and handling equipment. Their Chinese dealer chose SDV for its expertise among several logistics suppliers after investigation on the local market.

The main challenge for SDV was to deliver all these goods in 6 weeks. Totally 4 TEUS by sea and 15 tons by air were processed by SDV. These are all EXW shipments which require door-to-door service from Vernouillet France to Beijing China. Although we were on Chinese New Year holiday, SDV Beijing never stopped contacting with our counterparts SDV in Dreux to arrange the pick-up and to guarantee the sailing schedule to make the delivery before April 11, the first rehearsal of opening ceremony in the Bird Nest.
