Confirmed partnership between
Alstom Transport and SDV International Logistics

The award given last July by Alstom Transport to SDV International Logistics’ teams is confirmed by the launching of the platforms in Shanghai, Quingdao, Ris Orangis and Barcelona. The partnership between SDV and Alstom Transport concerns the catering of the European industrial sites of our customer by Chinese providers. This partnership planned for 3 years is based on total cooperation so as to define and set up the logistics strategy, organise transportations and reduce costs.
To carry out this mission, SDV set up important means to accompany Alstom transport’s purchase and supply chain management. The project is lead in different phases thanks to dedicated teams in China and Europe providing a custom-made service all through the supply chain :

• Management of the upstream supply chain : purchase orders management, tracing and tracking, stock logistics in Chinese warehouses (Shanghai, Quingdao).
• Transport of spare parts towards Europe : consolidation, customs, tracing and tracking, web tracing,
• Management of the downstream supply chain : deconsolidation, warehousing, stock management, sending pieces as requested, kitting (packaging solutions).

After a detailed analysis (auditing of the Chinese supplier’s factories, analysis of the purchase orders ) and the setting up of a logistics strategy, SDV International Logistics who is engaged in a productivity gains and continuous improvement approach is committed to reduce costs each year.
