SDV International Logistics : Logistics coordinator of the « Beaujolais Nouveau » operation for 22 years
Every 3rd Thursday of November calls for the « Beaujolais Nouveau » event, and our teams organized and coordinated the transport and logistics so that the Beaujolais amateurs all over the world may enjoy the 2007 vintage edition.
For the 22nd year in a row, SDV International Logistics set up important means for the event. All through the year, SDV teams in Japan and Lyons (France) managed the whole operation, from the negotiations with the wine storehouses up to the loading and logistics of the precious load.
Nearly 2000 tons of Beaujolais were handled by our teams, requiring the use of 1000 trailer trucks to take them to big European airports such as Lyons St Exupery, Roissy CDG, Amsterdam, Brussels, Frankfurt and Luxembourg. 85% of goods were then transported in 15 planes chartered especially for the operation. The remaining 15% were loaded on the regular lines of international airlines.
On November 8th, 2007 SDV International Logistics loaded 80 000 bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau on board a cargo 747-400 of Cathay Pacific Airline, landing in Lyons for the very first time.
