Industrial Project Division: a global know how dedicated to each specific industrial project.

Energy, Petroleum, Industry, Mining… The Industrial Project Division of the SDV International Logistics group develop and create solutions answering the needs of international companies.

As an example of this know how, our french staff organised the transport from Belgium to Angola of a desalination unit to equip a petroleum off shore platform.
A custom made solution was proposed for the client. It took almost a year for our team to handle all the specification of the contract from studies (constraint for the transport via sea, bridge scouting, studies on docks…) to the implementation, while being all the way in close contact with partners of the project.

Beginning of august 2006, the desalination unit left the production site for Angola. Being transferred from the factory to the “Meuse” with an hydraulic railcar trailer, the unit was then loaded on a very unique barge by 2 cranes. Indeed only few barge can handle such unit (140 tons, 16.4 meters long, 9 m large and 6.4 meter height) and navigate at the same time on river (depth of the river, height of bridge, …).
The desalination unit was then transported to Rotterdam before leaving to Angola. Scheduled arrival time is end of October.
