Chili signs various Free Trade Treaties
Presidential elections will take place next December… and it is a woman, Michelle Bachelet, who may succeed Ricardo Lagos.
With a GDP growth very stable (5, 8 % in 2005 and 3 % of inflation, Chile is expanding his relationship with the whole world, as we can see it with its several Free Trade treaties: after his association with Mercosur, integration to APEC, and implementation of a very innovator treaty with UE, Chile signed another one with USA into force since 2004, and, more recently, with Asia (Brunei, Singapore, New Zealand). Others witnesses of this opening are the negotiations with China and Japan, or the APEC meeting that took place in Santiago this year.
As a result: exports are increasing a lot (commercial surplus of 6000 million dollars on the three first quarters of 2005)… and so °SDV in Chile is!
Our airport office is in full expansion. First, it is one of the only freight forwarders in the country to have obtained the dangerous goods certification. Then, it exports a lot of perishable goods, its specialty (fruit, fish…), or living animals (frogs, worms of fishing, lambs…), or… helicopters!
Our Project department, where three collaborators are now working, is growing too, particularly with mining projects (Man Takraf), and with current expectations for telescope projects.
