Brunei is the 3rd-largest oil producer in
South-East Asia and the world’s 4th-largest exporter of
liquefied gas, and recorded continued growth of +3% in 2001. But, as its
reserves will not last forever, the Sultanate is gradually diversifying its
economy, in particular by investing, on the one hand, in growth industries:
microchips, optic fibres, etc., and on the other hand by making considerable
improvements to its transport infrastructure. More than 4 billion euros has been
invested since 1999 to transform Brunei into a regional hub.
Main imports:
machinery and transportation equipment, manufactured goods and luxury
products, foodstuffs, aerospace and defence equipment, electrical and
telecommunications equipment…
Main exports:
93.8% of exports consist of hydrocarbons (oil, liquefied natural gas
and refined derivative products).
Taking
advantage of the country’s modern infrastructure and this desire to remain open
to the world outside, SDV Brunei’s staff put all their expertise at your
disposal: a powerful international logistics network, modern technical
equipment, a department dedicated to all your customs operations and tailor-made
solutions ranging from simple parcels to the coordination of projects, via
large-scale consolidated shipments. To ensure an all-round service, 2 private
storage spaces at Bandar Seri Begawan and Kuala Belait are available for your
goods in transit.
