oil company who is active in petroleum exploration in
Brunei.

When, in 1991, the largest French oil group decided to
establish operations in Brunei, and thus compete with the one
and only oil company which had been solidly established in the
country for 100 years, it turned to SDV to meet its transport
and logistics requirements.
Brunei at the heart of the world’s largest free trade area
On November 5 2002, the ASEAN countries signed an agreement
with China, Japan and India on ambitious plans for free trade
areas. Starting in 2004, this agreement will initially bear fruit
in a reduction in customs dues and the introduction of measures
to encourage cross-investment. The promotion of transparency and
liberalisation in the investment sector will enable the world’s
largest free trade area to be established by 2010.
