Advice:
Baggage shipped by air
- for safety reasons, perfumes and aerosols are prohibited ;
- for the same reasons, your personal effects must be carefully packed: cases, bags and trunks closed with a code or padlock, cartons in perfect condition and sell taped (in case custom and excise officer visits, please supply us with the codes and/or keys).
Calculate the weight of your luggage By applying the IATA regulations, weight in volume is calculated on the following basis:1 kg is the equivalent to 6 dm3.
- In the case of your luggage gross weight being superior to the weight in volume, the gross weight is applied.
- If the gross weight is inferior to the weight in volume, the weight in volume is applied (that is the volume divided by 6).
- Example 1 : for one crate that has a gross weight of 60 kg, with dimensions of 50x50x40cm, that is a volume of 100 dm3 therefore the weight in volume of 100 : 6 = 16.66 kg , the gross weight is applied (60 kg).
- Example 2 : for one crate that has a gross weight of 60 kg, with the dimensions of 150x80x80 cm, that is a volume of 960 dm3 therefore a weight in volume of 960 : 6 = 160 kg, the weight in volume is applied (160 kg).
