July 24, 2012 - Chefs of Heads of State Visited the SDV Warehouse in Rungis

Every year since 1977, the Club des Chefs des Chefs (CCC), the world’s most exclusive gastronomic society, has been gathering for a meeting in a different country. It is the opportunity for them to discover the local cuisine and to participate in various culinary events purpose-designed to promote their passion.

Today, over 20 Chefs from all over the world are part of the CCC. Each country is represented by the Chef’s Head of State or the gastronomic institution in charge of the State official receptions.
The 2012 meeting was inspired by the Franco-German gastronomic relations and took place between Paris and Berlin from 18 to 25 July.


	On Tuesday 24th of July, the CCC visited the Rungis food market. Ready at 4.30 am in front of the fish market, they discovered every parts of the market: meat, poultry, cheese, world products, fruits and veggies and met up with the growers. On top of the visit, Patrick Allais, SDV Rungis, organized a guided tour of the SDV bonded warehouse located in the food market, as it is a must for the logistics related to perishables. Therefore, Patrick could answer the Chefs’ critical question: How to ship high-value perishable goods around the world? They ended up the tour with a breakfast with the major players of the Rungis market.
