Oct. 31., 2011 - SDV Indonesia Handles the Logistics for the Martabe Gold Project

The Martabe project is seen as one of the more promising undeveloped mineral deposits in Asia, containing extensive proven reserves of gold and silver.

SDV Indonesia is currently undertaking the Transport and Logistics for the delivery of time sensitive equipment for the construction of the Martabe Gold Project processing plant located in remote North Sumatra, approximately 52 KMS south of Sibolga.

Works entail receiving container cargo into the International Port of Belawan where equipment is unpacked and staged in a dedicated warehouse facility; this equipment is then called forward by SDV site personnel for delivery to the mine site.

As the roads from Belawan to the Martabe restrict the movement of out-of-gauge equipment, dedicated charters and LCT’s (Landing Craft) are being fixed to discharge this equipment in the small port of Sibolga where SDV has 3500 sqm of lay down within the port precinct. Equipment is then loaded and transported along the North Sumatran Highway to the Martabe Gold Project and upon arrival at site is handled by SDV’s team which consists of around 45 employees, operating cranes and other handling machinery.

This building site will be achieved first quarter 2012.
