August 29, 2011 - SDV Brazil Handles a Full Air Charter to the USA

The Oil & Gas team of SDV Rio de Janeiro was asked mid-August to provide an airfreight solution for one of the world largest drilling company, operating in Brazil.

Thirty six tons of drilling equipment were shipped from Texas, USA to Brazil under temporary admission, respecting the REPETRO procedure (Specific temporary imports procedure provided by the Brazilian customs authorities for goods related to exploration and production of oil and natural gas). Soon afterwards, the customer wanted to ship back this equipment to Houston. His main requirements were to respect a strict deadline as well as to ship the entire cargo at once.


	SDV proposed to use an air charter based at Cabo Frio airport, a private airport located 140 km north of the city of Rio de Janeiro, offering facilities, expertise and full customs structure to the oil and gas industry. The aircraft, an MD 11, was booked in order to operate on Saturday the 20th of August from Cabo Frio airport. However, the weather conditions postponed the departure to the following day on Sunday 21st of August. The SDV team supervised all the operations from end-to-end. The goods arrived at Houston airport, Texas, in time and in good conditions.
