Sept. 13, 2011 - SDV Australia: Operating a New Fragrances & Flavors’ Warehouse for Givaudan

A warehouse of 13 000 m² purpose-designed for the fragrances and flavors sector has been running since July 2011. Located in Sydney, part of this storage has been allocated already to Givaudan, the global leader in this market.

Initially SDV is Givaudan’s global freight forwarder. It means that SDV has been consolidating, shipping and clearing goods for Givaudan sites across the world. Therefore, to be more efficient and to meet the Australian standards, Givaudan has decided to improve its warehouse and distribution systems. Once again, SDV has demonstrated its expertise in this sector, by meeting the entire customer’s requirements:
“The 3PL option had to be more cost effective, had to deliver a higher on-time

performance distribution and had to have maximum inventory accuracy” requested the customer.

Not only did the offer pledge the above conditions, but SDV set up the warehouse next to its customer’s factory. This location is very convenient and allows more flexibility and reactivity for both companies.

SDV is also transporting and clearing the products sourced in Australia and Singapore into New Zealand using a new warehouse in Auckland.

The new down under facilities complete the solutions established for a while in Singapore.
