SDV is committed to environmental concerns in all its activities.

In this respect, our Group’s action plan focuses on 2 key areas:

Reducing our environmental impact by offering our customers environmentally responsible solutions,

Involving employees in the protection of the environment.

A dedicated organization has been set up to achieve these objectives.
Heading up this organization, the Corporate Director of Sustainable Development oversees the global coordination of our activities in areas such as:

- waste management

- water and energy consumption

- carbon footprint

- employee training

- collaboration with our principal suppliers (air, sea and road transport companies)

- the design of innovative logistics solutions focused on reducing CO2 emissions

THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROGRAM

Our main objectives:

To evaluate the impact our activities have on the environment, and to implement measures for improving the situation.

This commitment involves setting up a process for monitoring environmental hazards and gauging our own environmental performance. We have also instituted various activities to increase employee awareness.

To develop global processes and environmental standards within our network.

SDV’s endeavors in this respect are focused on ISO: 14001 2004 certification and keeping its platforms up to date and in line with environmental standards.

To integrate all the players in the supply chain into our environmental policy

Through partnerships with its main transport providers, SDV aims to involve all elements of the transport industry: air, sea and road transport companies. The objective is to integrate their data into our calculations relating to greenhouse gas emissions, and to follow through with joint initiatives aimed at reducing CO2.

To help our customers define an eco-friendly logistics policy

As a global player in the supply chain, SDV places its extensive environmental expertise at the disposal of its customers

Ever conscious of its responsibility to the environment, SDV is committed to promoting eco-friendly solutions. The reduction of CO2 variable is added to the cost and delivery time variables, allowing us to optimize the performance of our customer’s supply chain. SDV views these measures as part of an ongoing process of improvement. To anticipate our customers’ needs, we embrace new technologies and potential changes in regulations when designing our solutions.

Our activities have 4 factors in common:

- A CO2 calculator to measure the carbon footprint of shipments

- Advisory services to help customers develop eco-friendly logistics systems

- A range of multimodal services to encourage the use of eco-friendly transport

- Optimized solutions to reduce the number of direct shipments: consolidated air freight and ocean freight shipments, optimized order processing and optimized container loading
